Cantonese Adverbs

This is a list of adverbs in Cantonese. This includes adverbs of time, place, manner and frequency. Which sums up most of what you need for daily use.

Now: 而家
ér jiā
Later: 遲啲
chí dì
Tonight: 今晚
jīn wǎn
Last night: 噚晚
xún wǎn
This morning: 今朝早
jīnzhāo zǎo
Yesterday: 噚日
xún rì
Today: 今日
jīnrì
Tomorrow: 聽日
tīng rì
Next week: 下星期
xià xīngqí
Already: 已經
yǐjīng
Recently: 近排
jìn pái
Lately: 最近
zuìjìn
Soon: 好快
hǎo kuài
Immediately: 馬上
mǎshàng
Still: 仍然
réngrán
Yet: 仲未

After the above adverbs of time, now we move on to adverbs of place.

Now adverbs of manners, used to describe how something happens. They are usually placed after the main verb.

Slowly: 好慢

These are adverbs of frequency, which are used to answer the question "how often?".

Always: 經常

Sometimes: 有時

Rarely: 好少
hǎo shǎo
Never: 永遠唔會
yǒngyuǎn wú huì
