Filipino Present

This is a list of verbs in the present tense in Filipino. First let's start with the raw format before conjugating the verbs to the present form. Make sure to compare this table and the one below it.

To love: magmahal
To give: magbigay
To play: maglaro
To read: bumasa / magbasa
To understand: maintindihan
To have: magkaroon ng
To know: alam
To learn: matuto
To think: umisip / mag-isip
To work: magtrabaho
To speak: magsalita
To drive: magmaneho
To smile: ngumiti
To find: mahanap

These samples show how the verbs above are conjugated in the present tense in a sentence which includes all the object pronouns (I, you, she...).

I see you: nakikita kita
I write with a pen: gumagamit ako ng pen sa pagsusulat
You love apples: gusting-gusto mo ang mga mansanas
You give money: magbigay ka ng pera
You play tennis: magtenis ka; maglaro ka ng tenis
He reads a book: nagbabasa siya ng libro
He understands me: naiintindihan niya ako
She has a cat: may pusa siya
She knows my friend: kilala niya ang kaibigan ko
We want to learn: gusto niyang matuto
We think Spanish is easy: sa palagay naming madali ang Kastila / espanyol
You (plural) work here: nagtatrabaho kayo dito
You (plural) speak French: nagsasalita kayo ng Pranses
They drive a car: nagmamaneho sila ng kotse
They smile: ngumingit sila
