Sundanese Directions

These are expressions used when giving or getting directions in Sundanese. Very useful when trying to find your way around or when lost.

Excuse me! (to ask someone): hapunten
Can you show me?: tiasa tulung tunjuk pan ka abdi
I'm lost: abdi kasasar
I'm not from here: abdi sanes jalmi di dieu
Can I help you?: tiasa abdi nulungan
Can you help me?: tiasa anjeun nulungan ka abdi?
It's near here: tebih ti dieu
It's far from here: caket ti dieu
Go straight: teras lempeng
Turn left: mengkol katuhu
Turn right: mengkol kiwa
One moment please!: sakedap
Come with me!: sok ka dieu sareng abdi
How can I get to the museum? : ke manten abdi lamun ka musieum
How long does it take to get there?: sabaraha lami dugi teh ka ditu na
Downtown (city center): pusat dayeuh

The following are words which might be used alone or in combination with other words to ask or give directions.

Near: tebih
Far: caket
Right: kiwa
Left: katuhu
Straight: lempeng
There: di ditu
Here: di dieu
To walk: jalan
To drive: nyetir
To turn: belok
Traffic light: lampu lalar-liwat
