Russian Negation

This is a lesson about negation in Russian. This includes words or expressions used to form a negative form as opposted to the affirmative. For example "I don't understand".

No: Нет
Net
Nothing: Ничего
Nichego
Not yet: Еще не
Eshhe ne
No one: Никто
Nikto
No longer: Больше не
Bol'she ne
Never: никогда
nikogda
Cannot: Не могу / не может / не можем / не можете / не могут
Ne mogu / ne mozhet / ne mozhem / ne mozhete / ne mogut
Should not: Не следует
Ne sleduet

The below examples demonstrate how to use the negation form in a sentence. Don't be shy to use of these expressions if you don't know something.

We don't understand: Мы не понимаем
My ne ponimaem
I do not speak Japanese: Я не говорю по-японски
Ja ne govorju po-japonski
I cannot remember the word: Не могу запомнить это слово
Ne mogu zapomnit' jeto slovo
You should not forget this word: Вам / тебе не следует забывать это слово
Vam / tebe ne sleduet zabyvat' jeto slovo
No problem!: Без проблем!
Bez problem!
I don't know!: Не знаю!
Ne znaju!
I'm not interested!: Мне не интересно!
Mne ne interesno!
Don't worry!: Не беспокойтесь!
Ne bespokojtes'!
This is wrong: Это неправильно!
Jeto nepravil'no!
This is not correct: Это неверно!
Jeto neverno!
No one here speaks Greek: Здесь никто не говорит по-гречески
Zdes' nikto ne govorit po-grecheski
I'm not fluent in Italian yet: Я еще не бегло говорю по-итальянски
